Yep, got it today. The five stories I listed in my prior post are in there. Reproduction isn't that great but they are certainly readable! It's not a lot of Toth but for $17 this 400+ page monster of Silver age art I believe is worth getting.

Great Creepy pages. Interesting combo of the two artists. Leo did incredible work for Warren. I wish his work had caught on more here in the states. He did some freelance storyboarding at ILM, then later did work for Guillermo Del Toro on the first Hellboy movie. A very kind, softspoken old gentleman. Last I'd heard, he'd left L.A. and moved back to Europe. There was one incredible period piece he did for Eerie about two vampire twins. Great stuff! The work here Toth certainly made his own. Some really incredible use of black and white in this story. There was another story Toth inked for Warren. I think it was over Carmine Infantino. Beautiful work. Oddly enough, certain panels from that story reminded me of Gilbert Hernandez.

A new graphic novel, published under my own Calvary Comics imprint, is now available. Its full title is Erlo Stegen and the REVIVAL AMONG THE ZULUS, and an online preview can be seen here:

Stegen is a Christian minister in South Africa, and this book (literally) illustrates the events which culminated in the foundation of the KwaSizabantu Mission, in operation for more than four decades. |

It's nice that someone besides myself has contributed to the Roy Rogers collection ( thanks Wally Harrington! ) I spent some time scouring microfilms
at the Los Angeles Public Library trying to find a newspaper at the time that even carried the Roy Rogers strip. I wish there were a way to find out what newspapers carried which strips during that era. Ever try to speed scan with those old microfilm machines? I made myself nauseous! I found out that Roy Rogers lived in Riverside county at the time, so next time I go, I'll try looking for the newspaper from that area. |

As far as I can figure, this is a pin-up done for a magazine called Anabolis Insania whom I think might have been run by someone named Curt Metz? I'm also guessing this is a recreation of a romance montage Alex might have done in one of his Romance books. If anyone has any info on this, please let me know! It would be much appreciated.
